Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club are delighted to announce that long time servant of the club, Adam Caves has signed a contract to keep him at the club next season.
Supporters will be well aware of the commitment Adam has shown to the club since beginning his rugby career in the mini and junior section in the last century.
Apart from a 12 month spell at Gloucester in 2002/3 Adam has remained true to the red and black. He has made 341 appearances for the club to date making him the longest serving player in the professional league era. Joining Tom Fidler and James Tideswell in the front row, his tenacity and guile will make for a formidable combination.
Bringing youth to complement the experienced front row trio the club also confirms the signing of Jay Tyack from Chinnor and Ryan Roach from Cardiff Metropolitan University.
Jay a 6 feet 1 inch, 19.5 stone tighthead prop made 36 appearances for National Two South team Chinnor over the last two seasons, predominantly in the starting XV. Previously he played for Truro and Canterbury (New Zealand) Academy. Jay has also represented England at under 16 level and England Clubs and Schools at under 18.
Ryan is a 22 year old, 6 feet, 17 stone hooker joining from Welsh Championship side Cardiff Met RFC. Alongside his Championship appearances he also captained the Cardiff Met University side. Ryan has also represented his country at England Students level.
Richard Protherough, Director of Rugby said:
"I'm very pleased to sign Jay, Ryan and Cavesy, which gives us a good balance and competition in the front row. Cavesy brings a huge amount of experience and quality. Jay and Ryan bring a lot of talent and potential. Jay has been excellent for Chinnor this year, and is mobile for a big lad. Ryan has had a great season captaining Cardiff Met and playing for England Students. Both with the right development will be ones to watch this year."
