“Pre-season friendlies announced as Brad Hunt signs on with Moseley”
Pre-Season Friendlies
Moseley has confirmed two of its pre-season friendlies for the 2011-12 season under the new coaching set up headed by former Irish international Kevin Maggs and assisted by Craig West.
Whilst the dates for the league season are yet to be confirmed, the Birmingham club has arranged to play Bedwas at Billesley Common on Saturday 27th August (3pm k.o). The two clubs agreed to ‘reverse’ the fixture for the 2012-13 season when Moseley will travel to the Welsh Premiership club located a couple of miles north east of Caerphilly.
The weekend before, Moseley will travel to Aberavon (on Saturday 20th August) for a 2.30pm kick off at the Port Talbot ground of The Wizards. Aberavon finished 4th in last year’s Premiership and visited Billesley Common for a friendly prior to the 2010-11 season.
Squad Update
The club also has pleasure in updating supporters of the squad which is continuing to take shape for next season. A number of additional retentions are expected to be announced shortly but to date those confirmed for the season ahead include:
Anthony Carter, Adam Caves, Brad Davies, Michael Ellery, Ryan De La Harpe, Michael Maltman, Chevvy Pennycook, Ben Pons, Andy Reay, Paul Spivey, Richard Stott, Ollie Thomas and Craig Voisey.
Newcomers include lock Dan Sanderson, wing Jamie Hearn and centre Brad Hunt.
Bradley Hunt
Moseley has pleasure in announcing the signing of Brad Hunt from Rotherham.
With over 120 starts in the Championship with either Doncaster (75) or Rotherham (51), Brad provides options at both wing and centre. The 28 year old Australian born utility player has racked up over 30 tries in the last three seasons in England’s second tier - and in his seven starts against Moseley scored twice. His debut for Doncaster was in the 2003/04 season.
